The Beans Balls Joint
“David, please I need your help. Can you come over to my shop with some of your police colleagues?” the beans ball seller pleaded with her brother over the phone. “What is the matter, Ann?” “I have some girls here who happen to be in a problem. Do you remember Mr. dead?” “Ehmm…yes I do. What did he do this time?” “He is after some young girls here. The way things are, there might be much to what is going on here.” “Wait for me, I will be there soon.” “Okay, please come quick. There are three men in a Hilux truck watching the two girls I told you about. We feel Mr. dead sent them to watch the girls.” “Don’t fear, I am coming. Just make sure no one moves the girls away from you.”

“That was my brother David, he is a policeman. He is going to be here anytime to help you,” the beans ball seller said. “Thank you madam. We hope for our sakes, he gets here soon,” Sandra said, looking at the three men in the Hilux truck. “Madam is there some place we could go and rest before your brother arrives with help?” Patricia asked. “I think it is best you remain here. I am not comfortable with sending you away from here. Mr. dead is a strange fellow; I don’t trust him at all.” Turning to her daughter Esther she instructed, “Go into that compound and bring two benches.” Esther headed off with a spring in her stride, she had begun to love the unfolding twist to the story about Sandra and Patricia. She could not wait to see it unravel fully. It was not everyday that they saw Mr. dead showing interest in anyone. There must be something special about these girls, she thought.

A few minutes later Esther returned without any bench. She pulled her mother aside and whispered something to her. “Look after my wares Esther. Come with me the two of you,” the lady said, referring to Patricia and Sandra. They followed her across the street and into the opposite compound. The three men in the Hilux truck, brought the vehicle alive and cruised toward the very house the beans ball seller entered in the company of Patricia and Sandra and stopped in front of it. Across the street, Esther stared at them in disbelief. At first she had no clue about what to do. One of the three men in the Hilux truck had stepped down from the vehicle and was about to walk into the compound when Esther saw a group of young men heading up the street in her direction. She knew all of them. At different times each one of them had asked her out and she nicely turned them down.

Pointing at the Hilux truck, Esther let out a scream, “Kidnappers o! Solomon, kidnappers want to take my mother away o! Kidnappers are here o!” For a second that part of the street stood still as Esther yelled at the top of her voice. Solomon was the hot head amongst the group of boys. With his name on Esther’s lips, he needed no greater motivation to swing into action. He ran to the edge of the street and dragged a drum into the middle of the street. His friends went for tables and trash bins; in a flash they had barricaded the street. The three men in the Hilux truck fired a few gunshots into the air and revved up their car engine. They were determined to drive through the barricade.

To avoid being shot at, Solomon and his friends dived into the deep gutters on both sides of the street. The Hilux truck, rammed into the barricade with a loud sound. Out of nowhere a deafening gunshot rang out and shattered the back glass of the Hilux truck. It came from an old soldier living in the compound the beans ball seller led Patricia and Sandra into. The truck swerved and then sped away. In a jiffy, Solomon and his friends rallied commercial motorcycle riders and went after the truck. As they rode through the street, their number swelled up. By the sides of the street young men pelted stones at the truck and called their friends at the exit of the street to block it with heavy objects.

Back at the beans ball seller’s shop, Esther narrated to a crowd what she and her mother had noticed about the men in the Hilux truck. Inside the compound, the beans ball seller had led Patricia and Sandra into, they could hear the commotion on the street. The lady had heard Esther’s voice and knew she meant the three men in the Hilux truck. She had gone into that compound with Patricia and Sandra because Esther had brought to her remembrance that one of their distant relatives who was living in the house might be willing to watch the two sisters until David arrived with help.

The Exit of the Street
When the three men in the Hilux truck got to the street exit, a swarm of young men had blocked the road with all sorts of materials. There was no way they could drive through that one. The young men were bearing all manner of weapons and chanting angrily. One after another the three men stepped out of the truck and stomped their left feet unanimously on the ground and vanished from plain sight. leaving the angry mob in dismay. Uncle Jones was at work and sadly neither Patricia or Sandra could see that coming. With what had been revealed back in Lagos, uncle Jones was determined to get his hands on Sandra and Patricia.

While the mob was chanting, Solomon went to a corner of the street to take a call from Esther. “What! Mr. dead again!!!” Solomon yelled. “Yes, it is him. He was the one who wanted to take the two girls away. He claimed he is their uncle, but the girls don’t know who he is. In fact, they have not seen him before,” Esther blurted. “Where are the girls they wanted to kidnap?” “My mother has hidden them.” “Esther get off the street now, we are coming for Mr. dead!”

Down at Mr. dead’s house, a mysterious cloud of black smoke began waft from the ground, slowly covering the house. Inside the house, a lady stark naked from head to toes made a call to someone in Lagos and said, “Someone is praying for the two girls; find out who that is and stop the prayer. A mob has risen up in defense of the girls.” From the other end of the phone, a hissing, feminine voice whispered, “Kill them all.” “I will,” responded the naked lady.

Lagos, Road to the Seer’s House
On the road, a yellow taxi sped toward the seer’s house. Inside it were Samuel and pastor Yemi. “Don’t stop praying for the missing girls. Keep the entire prayer band members in the church praying. A demonic work has taken over that family. From what I know, the devil is using the man and his wife to bring his own seeds into this life,” pastor Yemi said over the phone. “If we are of the seed of Satan, why are you bothering praying for us? I and my sisters are not normal. There is no hope for us,” Samuel said crying. “Stop crying Samuel. When we prayed for you, God heard us, I think he will hear us again. I feel the need to pray for you and your sisters.” Samuel wiped his tears and mumbled, “Thanks pastor.”

Since he understood the full import of what his parents were doing and who they were, he had begun to see himself naked with his sisters and having sex. Each time he closed his eyes, the horrifying images would flash across his mind with an unnatural clarity. He would have loved to tell pastor Yemi about it, but he did not want him to lose faith and give up on him and his sisters. He was also afraid to mention it because he was burning with intense desire for incestuous sex. He was hoping that the prayers being offered on their behalf would change that.

The yellow taxi pulled into a street and cruised slowly down the street. “Where is the house Samuel?” pastor Yemi asked. Samuel was going to tell the driver where to stop when they ran into a crowd on the street. There was commotion on the street. Some were crying, while some were running into their houses with their children in utter fear. Pastor Yemi wound down the glass of the taxi and asked a man beside their vehicle, “What is going on here, sir?” “There is a seer living in that house! Just right now! I mean now-now, something like a human being went into his house and beheaded him in front of the people he was ministering to!”

At the sound of that Samuel and pastor Yemi recoiled in shock. “The thing, whatever it was left with his head. It walked some distance and simply vanished! Go down a bit, and you will see a blood trail on the street. The seer’s headless body is inside the house!” added the man.
