Greg was tied to a chair inside the kitchen and was unconscious. Helen threw a bucket of water on his face and he woke up. He had blurry vision for some seconds and felt severe pain in his head. “My head, Amber what happened?” Greg whispered. When his vision had adjusted to his environment, he saw what looked like a mad woman holding a knife in front of him. “No! No! Oh my God! No!” he screamed. “Leave him alone witch! Open the door! Don’t you dare hurt him because I will kill you. I will kill you if you hurt him Helen!” “Amber I am doing this because I love you,” Helen finally spoke up. “I hate you Helen, and I will kill you. What have I done to you to deserve this, please I beg of you open the door,” Amber said crying.

“I think we have to break the door down,” the stranger suggested. “What are you waiting for, please break it down before she kills him. My sister is crazy; I have always known that she was nuts but not to this degree!” The stranger ran to the back of the house and returned with a rod. With it he tried to force the kitchen door open. Then they heard Greg scream at the top of his voice, “Aah! Aah!!” Helen had sliced the knife through his left shoulder and threatened to slice his throat if they tried to come in.

“What gave you the guts to date my sister? You put your filthy hands on her; you had the nerve to come to my house and tried to hurt my sister! Bastard! I swear I will make you pay!” Helen yelled at Greg. “You said you don’t want a man to hurt me but you are the one hurting me right now!” Amber yelled. “I told you no man on earth is worth your time. Greg is fake, and he is not good for you. Greg deserves to die for coming close to you, because he is a filthy dog.” “Why are you doing this to me?” Amber asked crying. “Shh! Please let me handle the situation. I think I can talk her out of doing anything crazy,” the stranger whispered to Amber.

“Helen! Helen! Greg is losing blood; please we have to get him to a hospital now,” the stranger said calmly. “Stanger who invited you here? Get out of my house you dog or I will come out and cut off your male organ!” “I understand how you feel about men. Yes, all men are dogs. I accept, but what makes one man different from the other are his principles. I know you are a principled lady. You are a good person, so don’t do something bad that you will regret later.” “You know nothing about me! You heard my sister, I am crazy!” “You are a nice lady and you are not crazy, it just happens that you live in a crazy world with a lot of crazy people. I guess you are a victim of heartbreak and you have been hurt a thousand times but…” “All men deserve to be killed!!! They all should be tortured to death; that’s the only way my sister can be safe from making the mistake of trusting a man, I love my sister very much!”

“Yes, you you do. What you are doing right now is out of love, but your sister sees it as hatred. You don’t hurt those you love; I have been hurt a lot of times by those I love but I chose to forgive. Why hate when you can love?” Why repay evil with evil?” “You don’t understand. Greg is a devil!” “No, you are the devil!!” Amber protested. “Amber shut up,” the stranger whispered. Turning his attention back to Helen he said, “You said I don’t understand, please make me understand. I have all the time to listen.” There was a momentary silence as Helen said no word. Inside the kitchen Greg pleaded with Helen, “Please don’t kill me.” The stranger was so determined to have Helen talk about her pains he decided to tell her his story. Leaning on the kitchen door, he began with a calm voice, “Helen, I married the first girl I fell in love with; she was like an angel sent from God, and we complemented each other. She was all I wanted from a woman, smart, homely, respectful, humble, and had a great sense of humor. After I had dated her for six months I was sure she was the one, so I proposed to her, she told me she wasn’t a virgin that she was raped when she was a teenager and after that experience she had not had sex, I was saddened and promised to love and protect her.

“Our first three years of marriage was perfect, by then we already had two kids and she wanted us to stop having babies after those two, I agreed. I came back from work one day and caught my wife having sex with my younger brother who was living with us at that time. Later I found out that she had done two abortions for my brother under my very roof. I drove my brother away and hated him so much I sought to take his life. On his part, he blamed me for bringing into my house a nymphomaniac for a wife. He claimed my wife drove him nuts with demands for sex. I chose to believe what my wife said over what my brother had to say. I was blinded by love; I forgave my wife quickly like nothing ever happened and moved on. I wanted our marriage to work, because I didn’t want to lose her.

“I came home a month later and saw her in bed with her cousin; well that was what I thought. She would bring in her lovers into our house under the guise that they were her cousins. She deceived me. I did thorough investigation and found out she had a baby for another man before she got married to me. My source advised me to do DNA tests for my two kids because my wife was about five weeks pregnant when I married her, I collapsed. That was just too much for me to bear. I felt like a fool when I heard those words from him. I had no clue the woman I married was a sex deviant.  To think that she could look me in the eye, call me her love and still be sleeping with multiple men broke my heart. It destroyed me.

“I woke up in the hospital to find her sitting beside my bed. I confronted her with all I had found out and she didn’t deny them. She however shocked me further by stating that she made a big mistake by getting married to me. She claimed to have married me without being ready to live with a man. According to her, she hated children and regretted have some. Her only reason for getting married to me was that she needed someone to meet all her needs. Looking at me straight in the eye, she told me that she loved sex and would have to get it like four times in a day before she could be satisfied.

she told me that one man could not satisfy her sexual urge. She told me she told me she was disappointed to have married me. She called me names and claimed I lacked the stamina to satisfy her sexual needs. She took a walk from the hospital and since that day, I have not seen her. I have forgiven her. I had to so I could live free of all the hatred and bitterness in my heart. I find happiness in my kids and I love them very much. Helen you are a nice person.  You must not let your past control your present and your future.”

Helen leaned on the door, sobbing sadly, she slowly slid down to the floor and sat on it. “They say if you can’t find love, try to create your own happiness. I tried very hard but I couldn’t. I worked very hard to attain great success. I was beginning to think I could be happy until I saw this devil. Greg brought back all the hatred and bitterness I wanted to forget. Amber how did I know Greg’s favorite meal and song?” Helen asked. “I don’t know. Why are you asking? I hope it’s not what I am thinking.” “Amber, Greg is the reason I have lived my life in bitterness. He is the reason I hate men. He comes from a past I desperately want to forget,” Helen said crying.
