Nigeria's leading fictional story blog - watch a movie, switching girls like underwear, apartment, hostel, thinking of getting married, love, kiss.

“What are you doing tonight, Mathew,” Folashade asked. “I have nothing planned really,” Mathew answered. “Then, why don’t we go over to your place and watch a movie or something?” She suggested. “Yea! That would be great,” he answered. He was already salivating. The baba’s juju did not work, so Folashade had decided to take the law into her own hands. Months had swept by and Azubuike did not seem to be keen on marriage. He enjoyed being with her and they made love as often as possible; yet, marriage was not on the cards. She shuttled between her parents’ house, her hostel accommodation on campus and Azubuike’s apartment. She had dated Mathew briefly in first year before making a bigger catch – a rich boyfriend who had dumped her for another girl eventually. Afterwards, Mathew carried on with several other girls. He was your typical playboy, switching girls like underwear.

Folashade had planned it to perfection. She had concluded that Azubuike was incapable of impregnating her, so she decided to find herself a man to do the job. She was in her peak fertile period. They returned to Mathew’s apartment off campus and began to watch a home video. Mathew had served a bottle of wine, which got them both in the mood. Soon, their bodies were rubbing against each other’s. Then, their hands went to work, stripping off their clothes with professional precision. Soon, they were rolling and turning in sheer ecstasy. They lay beside each other afterwards, listening to their hearts pounding like an old train engine. Folashade was not about to take chances. She wanted to make her trip to Mathew’s count. She had been spending the week at the hostel, so she and Azubuike were not billed to meet. Some two hours after their first love making session, she initiated another one.

She spent the night at Mathew’s, sneaking out by early morning to return to her hostel. She was elated. She could not stop thinking of getting married. The next day, she was at Azubuike’s and she made sure to make love with him. A week later, she ran a quick pregnancy test, but it came out negative. She still had a few days for another test before her period kicked in. She could not stop thinking of walking down the aisle with Azubuike. She imagined the jeep he would likely buy for her after the wedding and a possible honeymoon in France, England or America. A smile colonized her face as she thought about the future.

Three days later, she hit the jackpot…her pregnancy test was positive!!! She could not wait to break the news to Azubuike. She repeated the test three times before he returned from work. She was tempted to send him a text announcing her pregnancy, but she only just managed to keep a rein on her lips…or rather fingers (from sending a text). “Honey, I am home!!!” Azubuike shouted as he slammed the door of his jeep shut. Folashade ran to him with infectious excitement. “I have news for you!!!” Azubuike shouted before she could say a word. “What is it sweetheart?” “I have been promoted to the position of regional manager. You know what that means?” He asked her. “Tell me sweetheart.” “We are moving into a mansion in Lekki paid for by the company. We will have two cars, one for you and one for me with a driver for each of us, sweetheart. We will get an all expense holiday to any country of our choice every year.

“Sweetheart, I know you must think that I have been neglecting somethings all this while. No, I have not. I have been working hard to get this promotion. Now that I have it, I am ready to settle down. Sweetheart, will you marry me?” Azubuike asked dropping to his knees. He held a glowing diamond ring to her, which glimmered under the gaze of the fading evening sun. “Oh my God!!!” Folashade squealed. “I can’t believe this is happening, honey!” “Yes it is. I have been waiting for this…to let you know that I love you from the bottom of my heart. You saved me from a terrible relationship. You have loved and cherished me ever since. I owe you so much. I would love to spend the rest of my life with you, my love. What do you say?” “Yes!!!” Folashade shouted as she offered him her finger. He slid the ring on her finger and she raised it to her face and stared at its beauty with ‘ebullient excitement’.

Kaimana…Wannan shi ne m. My kocin karshe yana kansa matarsa. Ta haka m! (Wow! This is beautiful. My boss finally has himself a wife. She is so attractive!)” Azubuike’s gateman bellowed. He had been watching the proceeding from his small cubicle by the gate. “And I have an even better news for you sweetheart,” Folashade said. “What could be better than you marrying me, my love?” She pointed at her tommy. “We have a little one…little you in there,” she said. “Wow! Today is a great day!!!” Azubuike shouted. He lifted her off her feet and carried her inside. “Isa jin dadi (Enough enjoyment),” Azubuike’s gateman said to himself.

Oluchi carried one of her babies out of the incubator. She placed him on the stroller and then lifted the second one carefully. Bernard was on hand to help her. They had been spending time since the night when he walked her home. He went to the hospital to help her the much he could. He told Chisom that he might still have feelings for Oluchi. “You should take it easy,” Chisom advised. “If you truly love her, then you should proceed carefully. All of us have been through a lot, so let things just fall into place. Don’t push or force it. There is a lot to think about…She has a hefty responsibility with the children, so it is not going to be like before when she had time. You need to be considerate and helpful if you want to go for it. Just bear those things in mind. Your parents might not be too pleased because she has two kids from another man who has disappeared, so you should be ready to face your family too.”

Chisom seemed to know how to deal with everything that life threw his way, so Bernard took his advice seriously. He and Oluchi had yet to kiss again. There had been times when they came so close, but they restrained each other. One evening, he had gone over to see her and they spend the entire evening sitting on the porch and chatting. Their bodies made contact, and they stared into each other’s eyes as their hearts reverberated like a full orchestra performing at the Sydney Orchestra House. The both smiled and looked away quickly. When she walked him to the train station, they held hands momentarily, squeezing each other’s hand with gentle affection.

Before he descended down the underground to catch his train, she said, “I still feel terrible about everything that happened between us…you, me, Chisom and Eloka. I…I feel like, maybe it is not going to work out.” “If it will, then it will, but if it won’t, then so be it. You don’t walk into a house and expect it to fall. You hope it stands the test of time. It does not mean the house is perfect, but if is tended carefully and looked after, maybe it would stand for years. Let’s not focus on the negative. When I see you, I don’t think of all that. If I did not know about it, it would not affect my view of you, so I choose to place the past where it belongs…in the past. One day at a time, Olu!” “You are so poetic. So romantic. I wonder why I did not listen to you then, when you told me that you loved me.” “It wasn’t the right time. God’s time is the best.” She smiled, kissed his hand momentarily and released it before he began to descend the steps.

Evans had fled the country to perhaps Spain or Greece. He did not want to pay child support to Oluchi. The government was paying her a certain amount every month and she got a rent-free flat from the local council. She was thinking of returning to school in a year to complete her study. Bernard carried one of the twins, whom Oluchi had already named, Bernard. “I am awed by your loving support and kindness, Benny. I name him, Bernard after you,” she said to him when she named her twins some days back.

She named the other one Edward, after her father. They had a taxi in front of the hospital waiting for them. When they reached home, Bernard helped her feed the twins and put them to sleep. “I have to leave now,” he said to her. “I have a quiz tomorrow. I will see you in two or three days’ time,” he added. “I look forward to seeing you, Benny. All the best in the quiz.” “Thanks!” He began to leave. When he reached the door, he turned, pulled her towards himself and began to kiss her. She reciprocated completely, kissing him fiercely. When they finally, let go, he smiled and said, “I will come back tomorrow after the quiz.” “And I will be waiting for you!” He smiled all the way on the train as he rode home.

“I hear you are getting married,” Mathew said to Folashade. She was walking to her vehicle. Her driver waited in the jeep. He already had the air conditioner on to make sure that the interior of the vehicle was cool enough for Folashade when she entered. “Yes, I am,” she replied. “Your stomach is growing real big too,” he remarked. “I am sure that’s where your eyes go when we are in class. I will be taking some time off school. I am due in two months.” “Is there any chance that I am responsible for your pregnancy?” Mathew asked. “What do you mean Mathew? Because I spent one evening with you? Stop deceiving yourself my friend,” she replied caustically. “But I remember the date I was with you…it adds up. Of all the girls I have been with, you are really special, so I take note of things like that. I have a feeling the baby you are carrying might be mine. You did not tell me you had a boyfriend or fiancĂ©. I am sure he would not want to hear that I was with you some seven months ago, how much more what we did together.” Folashade stared at her intensely. She wished she could shoot him with her eyes. “Are you threatening me?” She asked him. “No, I am stating the fact. I am sure you don’t want your husband to be, to hear those facts. Maybe, you want to keep me happy,” he added.
