Kate and her team picked one of the marked routes and made a march on it. If their plan did...

Kate and her team picked one of the marked routes and made a march on it. If their plan didn’t work and it came to a fight, they knew it would be a fight to the death. To avoid early bloodbath and to get closer to the lab facility, Kate chose to bind up Martin Douglas and Dr. Brown as her prisoners whom she was transporting to the facility. Shepherd, Eve and the two men from Stan Livermore pretended to be Kate’s aids. Kate was not sure if her fame had reached the men at the La Paz facility, she was counting on using it or her knowledge of the Elite to gain passage to the facility. Every one of them, including, Dr. Brown and Martin Douglas were armed to the teeth. When they drew near the first group of security squad on the marked route, they demanded that Kate and her team stop. Kate came down from the van which carried them, raising her hands to the air; she began to speak to them in a secret dialect.  The security officers did not believe one word of what she said.

Before high value prisoners were brought to the lab for experimental purposes, the security operatives were duly informed and furnished with the details of the prisoners being transported. In this case, there was no information given to them prior to Kate showing up on their route with two prisoners. The security men tried to call their boss to confirm Kate’s claims but just could not connect to their boss. Shepherd was inside their van jamming the communication signals of the security squad guarding the lab. Because they could not reach their central security office where their boss worked, they offered to send a few of their men to accompany Kate and her team to the next security outpost. That was not what Kate and her team wanted, but they had factored that in when they made their plans. It was better than starting a fight from the very first contact they had with those keeping watch over the evil lab. Passing through the first gate without a fight would be encouraging. However they had a problem, if they were to move on from the outpost, their phone lines would begin to work fine. So to keep the phone lines down permanently, Shepherd sent Eve to go plant a device which emitted jamming signal inside the restroom in the outpost building.

Pretending to be in need to ease herself, Eve was led at gunpoint to the restroom. She knew someone would be watching her through a CCTV, so when she entered the restroom she pretended to vomit and stuck the device under the WC.  After that she sat on the toilet for a while, playing the part of someone who probably had a stomach bug. When she was done she left the rest room and was led back to their car. The squad assigned to them to lead them to the next outpost drove in front of them and behind them. Kate already had a plan to get rid of the men taking them to the next outpost. At some distance away from the first outpost, Kate stopped their van, pretending it had broken down. As soon as she jumped down from the van, she opened the bonnet and yanked off some wires from the engine before the men could get to her. Still pretending she was trying to fix the vehicle, she kept spoiling things in the van. By the time the Elite security team came to her to know what was wrong with their vehicle, she had done much damage to the van. To give the impression that she was frustrated with their vehicle breaking down, she began to curse and kick at the van. The Elite security team still did not trust Kate and her team. They were trained not to buy into stories such as she had told them, until they had been verified by senior officers.

For Kate and her team, they had succeeded in bringing the Elite security team just where they wanted them, far in-between two outposts. If they could take them out, from there they could hack into the security system supporting the lab facility and jam a few things up to cause confusion. Martin Douglas and Dr. Brown knew what to do at this point. The two of them took off in different directions, running toward each Elite team which accompanied them toward the lab. As they ran, they shouted, “They want us dead! They don’t want us to get to the lab!” The two of them were shouting as loud as they could and making signs with their bound hands toward Kate and her team. Kate and one of Stan Livermore’s men went after Martin Douglas, Eve and the second guy from Stan Livermore went after Dr. Brown. They made the situation to look really serious. Shepherd picked up an assault rifle and took a vantage position in the vehicle. He knew thing would get ugly in that moment. They had it all planed out. The two groups of Elite security teams were confused. As they shouted at Kate and her team to back down, Kate and her team shouted at Dr. Brown and Martin Douglas to stop running.

The scene was suddenly meshed in confusion. In the vehicle Shepherd had his eyes strained on the distance between his teams and the Elite teams. He knew at what point to open fire on them. He controlled his nerves and held his breath. The sound of gunshot ripping through some of the Elite security men near the van in which Shepherd was, made the scene much more confusing. Before the Elite teams could figure out who was shooting who, the people running toward them, including Dr. Brown and Martin Douglas who were calling out for their help, opened fire on them. The sight was gory to behold, human flesh torn apart with bullets flew into the air. The Elite team members were mown down like grass with the rain of bullets fired in their direction. Kate and her teams hit the ground, giving Shepherd the chance to blow up the vehicle in front of them. Shepherd pointing his rifle at the vehicle in front of him pumped bullets into its fuel tank and it went up in flames. The Elite security personnel who took refuge behind the vehicle were blow into the bush nearby by the erupting explosion.

Turning toward the other vehicle, Shepherd pointed his rifle toward it, but having seen what happened to their colleagues, the remaining members of the Elite squad pinned Shepherd in the vehicle, firing endlessly at him, making it difficult for him to shoot. Dr. Brown who had rolled into the bush nearby pointed her hand gun on the fuel tank of the second vehicle and squeezed the trigger hard. The others took cue from Dr. Brown and began to shoot at the vehicle protecting the Elite squad who had Shepherd pinned down. Just like the other vehicle, the second one caught fire and exploded. Kate sprang to her feet and ran toward their van. She worked feverishly to get their van working again. Her team stood to their feet and made sure the Elite security squad members were put down permanently. None took notice of the fact that Shepherd had not stirred yet. They realized something was wrong when Kate shouted at him, “Shepherd! Try starting the vehicle!” There was no sound or move from him. After she shouted two more times, she knew something was wrong. Her fear was that he was dead. It wasn’t just Kate who felt that way, the rest did the same when Shepherd did not answer Kate or made a move.

They all ran toward their van, opening its door they saw Shepherd covered with broken glass, when Dr. Brown turned him, they saw blood where he lay. He had been hit by some bullets and was losing blood fast. They carried him out of the car and Dr. Brown began to work on him. Kate stood beside him and shouted, “Shepherd, open your eyes! Open your eyes.” Martin Douglas knew they had to move away from that location before the full Elite squad come for them, so he ran to fix their van.  Everyone had one injury or the other. But they were nothing to worry about at that point. Shepherd was their biggest concern. If their mission must succeed then they must not lose him. After Dr. Brown succeed in patching up Shepherd and had him talking. They all turned their attention to their van only to seen Martin Douglas lying on the ground bleeding. He too had taken a bullet and did not bother to take a look at it. Dr. Brown went on him to work immediately. Realizing their mission was on the brink of failure Eve asked the two guys from Stan Livermore to carry Shepherd away from the road to the bush nearby, they could not go deep into the bush fearing land mines. Eve took their gadgets and set them up for shepherd, she wanted him to see if he could get into the security system of the lab, using their open wifi and mess things up a bit to buy them some time.

Fortunately Dr. Brown brought back Martin Douglas, and they took him off the road as well. After they had their vehicle revived, they used it to shield themselves in case of an attack and those who could fight took positions to stage a bloody battle when the Elite security personnel come after them. At this point, their hope of taking down the lab depended entirely on Shepherd hacking into the lab security system. It was quite a task for him. Even though he bled from his wounds, his fingers worked on his laptop feverishly, doing everything he knew how to do to get past the lab fire wall. When he eventually did, they jubilated wildly. Wasting no time, Shepherd began to download bugs into the system. As he worked, the bugs he installed into the lab computer system paved way for him to go deeper into the lab computer network. He hacked into cameras and from his laptop they were able to see some parts of the lab. Except for Dr. Brown and Kate, none of them was ready for the shocking things they saw inside the lab.
