                                                                    WHERE IS YOUR HEART?

They were seated at the famous love garden at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC). Ijeoma was all over Ikemefuna as they savored the afternoon sun in mid-January. It was harmattan season; she meant that the sun was not as intense. Ijeoma stroked his neck as they bathed in the feeble sun. They had been lovers from year one, and now in third year, they seemed destined for a future together as graduation slowly creeped upon them. Then, Chiasoka walked past the garden. She was tall, dark-skinned, and exceptionally beautiful. Her eyes were bold with rich lashes. She was in the habit of wearing long braids that accentuated her beautiful face. Her height was the envy of most guys.

Her voice was like a never-ending rhythm that sent some of her classmates to sleep. Ikemfuna had been in love with her for over a year now. They had worked together on a project and became good friends afterwards. Ijeoma had accused him of liking Chiasoka, which he quickly denied…he could not muster the guts to admit it. Deep inside, he was madly in love with her and the more he held out, the more he fell for her. Chiasoka had her suspicions too, but she was not the type to get involved with a guy who was seeing someone else…especially a girl in her class. Ikemefuna watched her glide by like a princess and his heart began to beat faster. “Your heart beats faster each time you see her. Are you in love with her?” Ijeoma asked accusingly?

YOUR COMENTS: Should Ikemfuna tell her the truth? Should he ask Chiasoka out?
